A GRP panel tank (also called a sectional water tank or fibreglass panel tank) is a modular water storage system made from pressed glass reinforced plastic panels. Each panel is bolted together on-site with rubber gaskets, forming a fully sealed, food-safe tank — with no welding, no cranes, and no excavation required in most installations.
The GRP composite material is the same used in boat hulls and aerospace components — corrosion-resistant, UV-stable, and structurally superior to steel or concrete at equivalent wall thicknesses.

GRP Composite Panels
Each panel is hot-press or hand-lay moulded from glass fibres and polyester or vinyl ester resin. Standard panel size is 1m × 1m or 0.5m × 0.5m. Thickness ranges from 8mm to 16mm depending on tank height and water load.

EPDM Rubber Gaskets
Food-grade EPDM rubber gaskets are fitted between every panel joint. They create a watertight seal that remains flexible as the tank expands and contracts with temperature — critical in UAE summer conditions above 50°C.

Stainless Steel Bolts
316L marine-grade stainless steel bolts connect panels along the flange. Bolt spacing and torque specifications follow BS EN 13280 to ensure uniform gasket compression and long-term seal integrity.

Structural Support Frame
Hot-dip galvanised steel or stainless steel angle frame reinforces the base and side panels. The frame transfers water load to the slab below and prevents panel deflection at full capacity.

Manway Cover & Vent
Every tank includes a lockable GRP manway lid for inspection and cleaning access, plus a screened overflow and vent pipe that prevents contamination while allowing pressure equalisation during fill and draw cycles.

Inlet, Outlet & Float Valve
Standard connections include a bottom outlet, side inlet, and a ball-float valve assembly. All fittings are supplied in food-grade PVC or stainless steel and sized to the tank's capacity for correct fill rate.

GRP panel tanks need a flat, level, structurally sound base — typically a reinforced concrete slab. For rooftop installations on existing slabs, we carry out a visual slab assessment as part of our pre-delivery survey. If the existing slab is adequate, no additional works are needed. For ground-level or basement installations on unprepared ground, a concrete pad is normally required, which we can advise on.
